We Sport Too is a youth-led movement working to transform sport into a space where every young person feels seen, supported, and able to lead. We believe that belonging is not optional, it is essential. Our work centers LGBTQ+ youth, neurodiverse youth, and young people with disabilities or complex medical needs, ensuring they have access to inclusive, affirming, and empowering athletic environments.

Our mission is simple: No young person should ever be left on the sidelines.

We Sport Too began with a simple truth: many young people are excluded from sport not because of ability or interest, but because systems were never designed with them in mind. As our founder wrote, “Growing up autistic and epileptic with complex medical needs, I learned early that many spaces, including sports, schools, and community programs, were not designed with people like me in mind.”

What started as a social media campaign highlighting underrepresented athletes has grown into a national effort to redesign sport through visibility, education, access, and youth leadership.

We are part of a broader ecosystem of youth-led change, connected to initiatives like The Lily Project and Students for Educational Equity in the U.S., which together have reached more than 1,000,000 students with advocacy tools.

Summer Sports Challenge

Get active this summer with our Summer Sports Challenge! From July 1 to August 31, participants are encouraged to try five different sports or physical activities and record each experience in their Sports Challenge Log Book. Whether it’s a new sport, a fitness class, or an outdoor adventure, every activity helps build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Try‑It Sessions (Launching Fall 2026)

Our Try‑It Sessions offer low-pressure, welcoming opportunities for young people to explore different sports in environments intentionally designed to be inclusive. These sessions remove common barriers such as lack of exposure, confidence, or supportive spaces.

As described in our founding work, “These programs have moved from planning to implementation, with sessions now scheduled and actively recruiting participants.”

Participants can try new activities, meet supportive mentors, and discover where they belong.

Mentorship Pathways

After participating in Try‑It Sessions, youth are paired with mentors who help them continue their athletic journey. Mentors support confidence-building, identity development, and leadership skills, turning a single experience into long-term engagement.

Visibility & Representation Initiative

Representation matters. When young people see athletes who share their identities, it reshapes who they believe can belong in sport.

Our visibility work includes:

  • Athlete spotlights

  • Social media campaigns

  • Community storytelling

  • Highlighting athletes whose identities are often overlooked

Proud Spaces

Proud Spaces is a practical curriculum designed to help coaches, volunteers, and youth organizations build inclusive environments. It focuses on respectful communication, accessibility, and affirming practices that ensure all young people feel safe and supported.

These tools help shift sport from unintentionally excluding youth to actively including them.

Proud Sports

Proud Sports expands on Proud Spaces by offering program design templates, universal design principles, and inclusion checklists that help organizations redesign their athletic programs from the ground up.

Together, these curricula provide clear, actionable guidance for creating sports environments where every young person can fully participate.
